Who may use this site

What we sell

We sell classical Ayurvedic formulations and proprietary Ayurvedic medicines manufactured under licence in accordance with the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 and the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules 1945. Classical formulations are prepared to the texts named on each product page and to the standards of the Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India. Batch number and expiry are printed on every pack.

Information on this site is not medical advice

Product pages, herb monographs, articles and self-assessments on this site are educational. They describe traditional Ayurvedic use and, where cited, published research. They are not a diagnosis, not a prescription, and not a substitute for consulting a qualified physician about your own situation.

Nothing on this site should be read as a claim to prevent, treat or cure any disease listed in the Schedule to the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act 1954. If any wording appears to you to make such a claim, tell us and we will correct it.

Do not stop or change prescribed medication because of anything you read here. If you have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or go to a hospital — do not use this site.

Prescription-only and Schedule E1 medicines

Some formulations we sell are prescription-only, and some contain ingredients listed in Schedule E1 to the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules 1945, which carry a mandatory caution. These are marked on the product page. We will not dispatch such an item without a valid prescription from a registered practitioner, and we may cancel and refund an order placed without one. Do not exceed the dose printed on the pack.

Teleconsultations

Consultations booked here are provided by practitioners registered with the relevant State Board or the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine, in accordance with the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020. By booking, you consent to the consultation being conducted remotely.

  • The practitioner decides whether your situation can be handled remotely at all, and may tell you to be seen in person instead.
  • A prescription may be issued only where the Guidelines permit it for the medicine and the mode of consultation concerned.
  • Teleconsultation is not for emergencies. It cannot replace physical examination where one is needed.
  • You must give accurate information. A consultation based on incomplete or wrong history may be unsafe.
  • The consultation record is retained for three years, as the Guidelines require.
  • Consultation fees are payable in advance and are refundable as set out in our Returns & Refunds policy.

Orders, prices and when a contract is formed

  • Placing an order is an offer to buy. The contract is formed when we accept it by dispatching the goods — not when you pay. Until then we may decline the order and refund you in full.
  • All prices are in Indian Rupees and are inclusive of GST at the rate applicable to the item. A tax invoice is issued with every order.
  • We may decline or limit an order where stock is short, where a prescription requirement is unmet, where the delivery address is not serviceable, or where we reasonably suspect fraud.
  • If a price or description is obviously wrong, we will tell you before dispatch and let you confirm at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
  • Offers and coupons cannot be combined unless stated, and may be withdrawn at any time before an order is placed.

Payment

We accept UPI, cards and net banking through our payment gateway, and cash on delivery on eligible orders. Cash on delivery carries a fee of ₹50 and is not available above ₹5,000 or for prescription items. We never see or store your full card details.

Delivery

Charges, timelines and serviceable areas are set out in Shipping & Delivery, which forms part of these terms.

Returns

Medicines cannot be returned once opened, for safety reasons. The full policy, including the cases where we do accept a return, is in Returns & Refunds, which forms part of these terms.

Reviews and anything else you post

You keep ownership of what you write, and grant us a licence to display it on the site. Do not post anything false, defamatory, unlawful, or that claims a medicine cured a disease. We may decline or remove a review, and we do not remove a review merely because it is unfavourable.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break, overload, scrape or gain unauthorised access to this site or to another person's account, and do not use it to resell without our written agreement.

Intellectual property

The text, photography, monographs, articles and design on this site belong to Prachyam Ayurveda or are used with permission. You may read, print and share them for your own use. You may not republish them commercially without our written permission. Classical Sanskrit sources are of course in the public domain; our translations, commentary and photography are not.

Limitation of liability

We are liable for delivering goods that match their description and are of satisfactory quality, and for the consequences of our own negligence. We are not liable for loss arising because you used a product contrary to its label, its cautions or a practitioner's instructions, nor for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act 2019.

Grievance redressal

Under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020, complaints may be sent to prachyamayurveda@gmail.com or +91 9838109090. We acknowledge within 48 hours and aim to resolve within 30 days.
