Talis Patra (Abies webbiana) is the leaf of the Himalayan silver fir, a tall conifer of the high forests. The flat needle-like leaves are dried and used.
Ayurveda uses it as a warming respiratory drug — for cough, asthma and hoarseness — and it is the lead ingredient of Talisadi Churna, one of the standard classical cough powders.
