परिचय

Falsa (Grewia asiatica) is the phalsa, a small purple summer berry with a sharp sweet-sour taste, sold as sherbet across northern India through the hot months.

Ayurveda uses the fruit as a cooling Pitta drug — for thirst, burning and heat exhaustion — and the bark as a demulcent in urinary and respiratory complaints.
