Brahmi Vati combines the two classical Medhya herbs — Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) and Shankhapushpi (Convolvulus pluricaulis) — with Vacha, Maricha and a small mineral fraction including Swarna Makshika Bhasma and Ras Sindoor. The classical indication is Smriti-daurbalya: weakness of memory and retention, along with the restlessness and disturbed sleep that often accompany it. Because the formula carries a processed mercurial ingredient it is a physician-supervised medicine, not a daily supplement.
Classical reference: Ayurveda Sara Sangraha; Brahmi is described in Charaka Samhita as a Medhya Rasayana.
