About this formulation
Bala Taila (Ksheerpaka) is a classical medicated oil prepared by processing Bala (Sida cordifolia) roots in sesame oil and milk. Deeply nourishing and Vata-pacifying, it is traditionally used in Abhyanga (therapeutic massage) to fortify muscle fibres, bones and nerves, and to relieve generalised weakness, fatigue and neuromuscular stiffness. The milk-processing (Ksheerpaka) adds a strengthening, tissue-building quality prized for convalescence, paralysis-related weakness and Vata-vitiated debility. Working on the Mamsavaha and Majjavaha channels, Bala Taila calms aggravated Vata and rebuilds depleted tissue. It is a time-honoured rejuvenating oil for the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, prepared to strict classical standards.
Classical reference: Ashtanga Hridaya / Bhaishajya Ratnavali (Vata Vyadhi Chikitsa).
